He received the Ph.D. degree in 1997 and the D.Sc. degree in 2006 from Belarusian National Technical University, Minsk, Belarus. From December 1995 to June 2007, he was consequently an Assistant Professor, an Associated Professor and a Full Professor with the Department of Automotive Engineering, Belarusian National Technical University. In July 2007, he became an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow and, in July 2008, he became a Marie Curie Fellow with Ilmenau University of Technology, Germany. He is currently a Research Professor with the Automotive Engineering Group, Technische Universität Ilmenau, Ilmenau, Germany. His research fields are vehicle dynamics, electric vehicles, automotive control systems, brake design, and fuzzy logic. Prof. Ivanov is a member of IEEE, SAE International, Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan, the Association of German Engineers, IFAC (Technical Committee “Automotive Control”), and the International Society for Terrain-Vehicle Systems. He was a recipient of Ralph R. Teetor Educational Award in 2006, CADLM Intelligent Optimal Design Prize in 2010, and the ISTVS International Conference Best Paper Award in 2014.
